Hindbag: 100% ethical manufacturing in Delhi, within a GOTS-certified NGO
ARTISANAL AND ETHICAL MANUFACTURING BY THE NGO SSMI
Hindbag collaborates with Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute (SSMI), an Indian NGO which works for the emancipation of women in the disadvantaged district of Punjabi Bagh, in the North-West of Delhi.
CONCRETE COMMITMENTS: SALARY, TRAINING AND EDUCATION
These are not donations from Hindbag, but rather a long-term and exclusive partnership with a GOTS- certified sewing workshop, committed to the emancipation of women. These women make textile accessories in exchange for a salary above the country average, which values their skills, continuing training and a place at school for their children.
Currently, 150 women work daily making our bags, and 750 students attend school from kindergarten to high school.
LOCAL KNOW-HOW: A VALUABLE RESOURCE
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
At Hindbag, we are committed to promoting Women Empowerment, a subject of crucial importance in India.
In a country marked by a very strong patriarchal tradition, the security and development of the status of women is a daily issue.
By providing training and wages to disadvantaged women, we enable them to stabilize their situation and become emancipated. By providing access to education to an entire neighborhood, we hope to change mentalities across future generations.
CHANGING FASHION: VIRTUOUS, TRENDY AND ACCESSIBLE
Thanks to our production, the NGO does not depend on donations, it is independent in its actions for the emancipation of women and the education of children.
Working in a short circuit with an ethical and eco-responsible impact should not, in our opinion, be done to the detriment of the end consumer. We are committed to offering up-to-date products at the right price.
By choosing Hindbag, you help us develop a sector and defend committed and sincere production.
