Our engagements
Hindbag collaborates with Swami Sivananda Memorial Institute (SSMI), an Indian NGO that works for the emancipation of women in the underprivileged district of Punjabi Bagh, in the North-West of Delhi.
These women make our textile accessories in exchange for a salary (3 times higher than the local salary), training and a place in school for their children.
These are not donations, the work of the sewing workshop is simply remunerated at its fair value.
We have also chosen to highlight the Indian know-how of the seamstresses.
For example, the patterned linings of our bags are handmade with local artisan stamps.
At Hindbag, we are therefore committed to highlighting Women Empowerment, which is a subject of crucial importance in India.
In a country marked by a very strong patriarchal tradition, the security and development of the condition of women is a daily challenge.
Thus our production system accompanies the NGO in its fight for the emancipation of women in India and allows it not to depend on donations.
By choosing our products, our customers contribute to changing manufacturing methods by supporting ethical and committed production.
